Exhale. Now, exhale again and really empty out.
Invite the inhale…
Do you feel there is more space on your next inhalation once you fully exhaled?
This is the way we all begin with creating relationship to space. Which holds the container for all the other elements (air, water, fire, earth) to come into existence.
Unlocking more space in our lives is foundational for us to feel at home in our body. And the breath is the gateway, meditation holds the key.
But what is meditation?
Good question!
For me, it’s not static (a “thing”), it’s a both a quality and moving experience of choosing to be present moment by moment.
Yes, it’s easier to access “on the cushion” but it’s not location specific. In other words it’s not about space. (Physically, but all about it metaphorically).
I experience it when I am in a place of refuge. Where I can turn inward through choice, and experience more connection to myself.
As life gets faster and busier (aka more chaotic) it’s ever more important to choose to turn into oneself instead of away from ~ towards distractions, coping mechanisms (that only get us so far) and ultimately dis-ease if we don’t anchor into our foundation.
Enjoy this simple 23 meditation to just begin where you are. With the breath. In the body. And rewire your nervous system (and perhaps learn something new about the masculine energy we see in our physical world today dominating our culture).
